About
Vocational Training was established in 1987 when it was recognised that
there was a need to provide accessible, supportive and appropriate training
for unemployed people in West Lothian. Over the years that the organisation
has been running we have provided training and support to over 750 people.
Vocational
Training works in conjunction with and as a service provider to local
and national government agencies meeting the training needs for unemployed
and socially disadvantaged people living in West Lothian, thereby relieving
unemployment and poverty.
Funding
Vocational Training is currently funded by West Lothian Council and
the European Social Fund
Venue
Vocational Training premises are located in a serviced, professional
business centre and consist of three large training rooms with a capacity
of twelve clients each. There is also a canteen for up to twenty-four.
The project is well
resourced with training equipment including a range of computers and
appropriate software. Each client will have the individual use of a
high specification personal computer with business and education software.
